Our History

Family Life Church began the last weekend of June in 1994 with the vision to the reach the lost and unchurched in our community. Senior Pastor Dale Travis and 54 others, gathered in an old furniture store excited to see how God would use our new church. After six months in the furniture store, we procured a new facility in the Cinema at Western Plaza Shopping Center. During the following six years our numbers grew to 250 active members. In early 2000, Western Plaza was sold and we were informed that we would need to find a new location. With the desire to own our own building, we began praying for God to lead us in our search for new facilities. Soon we were approached by a school board member of a local Christian school who informed us that the school owned 7 acres of land and would be willing to sell it.  Believing that this was what God had in store for Family Life, we were able to purchase the 7 acres, and soon began building our current location on SW 58th. Since then we have grown from 250 members to over 800 active members and have 3 weekend services along with our youth services on Wednesday evenings. Plus, we have over 20 small groups that meet during the week. Over the past 22 years, God has brought many lost and unchurched to Family Life.  In August 2015, Pastor Dale was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. During the next few months he continued preaching as his health allowed. In January 2016, Pastor Dale stepped down as the active pastor of Family Life, and Pastor Robbie Ashlock became the Lead Pastor. In early May of 2016, Pastor Dale Travis was called home to be with the Lord. Since then, Pastor Robbie and the staff have been carrying on the vision that God gave Pastor Dale 22 years ago. Lives have been changed and we praise God for the work He has done at Family Life and look forward to what He will do in the future!
